Margaret has worked in the not-for-profit sector both in the UK and the US for the past 25 years. She has served in a number of roles, including that of trustee, development director, volunteer, and corporate grantmaker and community foundation director. She has been both a grantseeker and a grantmaker.
She served as the Director of Development of The American School in London for four years where she built a development and alumni programme which raised continuous as well as capital gifts. Prior to moving to Britain ten years ago, she was the Executive Director of The Coca-Cola Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia and responsible for all community relations programmes of The Coca-Cola Company.
She attended a girls’ independent boarding school (Miss Porter’s School in Farmington CT.), and the University of Pennsylvania.
Margaret is an exponent of "best practice" in all areas of development in the UK as well as the US. She is a member of the IDPE, and is a former member of its Executive Committee. She is a frequent speaker for CASE, the European Council of Independent Schools and the Scottish Council on Independent Schools.
